Chronic Illness

Are you tired of trying to DIY your diagnosis?

Endometriosis, PCOS, Ulcerative Colitis, Chron’s Disease, Celiac, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Rheumatoid and Scoriatic Arthritius; just to name a few. Chronic illness doesn’t come with a user manual upon diagnosis, it’s up to you to care for yourself, your body, and create the life you want to lead with your illness.

Initial Diagnosis

Have you, or your child, just been diagnosed with a chronic illness? You might have just emerged from anethesia to learn your world has turned upside down. Or maybe you’ve been searching and searching for the answer to what’s been plaguing you and now that you have it you’re shocked by how overwhelmed you feel.

Adjusting to the New Normal

It might seem impossible right now to manage your symptoms, treatment, and life your life. Maybe your symptoms have been around for years, or maybe your diagnosis came on fast and strong. Whatever your history is with your body, it probably needs some healing. Chronic illness, especially if it comes with chronic pain, can put you and your body at war with one another. Adjusting to the body you have and the diagnosis it carries can be a bit like forming a truece, and eventually a friendship. It involves awareness, curiosity, compassion, and a lot of acceptance (which is a heck of a lot different from approval). If that word acceptance just activated you - welcome to the club!

Symptom Anxiety

Is it hard for you to leave the house, even on non-flare days, because you’re worried about what symptoms might show up? Are you avoiding certain activities or places out of fear that you’ll have a symptom episode that you can’t manage? Have you had a traumatic experience with your symptoms that you can’t stop replaying in your head? You might be experiencing symptom anxiety, the effects of medical trauma, or even have developed illness-induced panic attacks. Together we can help you manage your symptoms with more ease and help you return to the activities, places, and experiences you long for.

Treatment Burnout

Are you drowning in doctors visits, infusion schedules, PT appointments but have this nagging doubt that nothing you do matters you can’t shake? Does it seem like you should be feeling better, more confident in your care but all you seem to feel is lost? Treatment burnout is one of the most common experiences of my clients.
